Duces, Seattle

Our exciting and whirlwind-like Navy life took us from Sicily, Italy to Seattle, WA in December of 2010 and is now sending us to Tampa, FL just one year later! We knew it would be a short and sweet visit here...just enough time for Hubby to attend grad school at the University of Washington. Now he's wrapping up school and the movers have boxed up all our belongings.

What will I miss about our home in Seattle? Living down the street from a vegan organic doughnut shop, having access to great produce at the local farmers market, my friends and job at the bead shop, local craft beer, walking to Greenlake (Seattle's Central Park), watching the birds in my back yard, and Mariners baseball games, just to name a few. One thing I'm sure not to miss? The weather. I'm solar powered, and my batteries have been low for the past year. I'm a sunshine, warm weather, beach loving kind of girl. Florida is my kind of place!

I recently looked at all the random images of food, events, and little moments stored on my smart phone. Here are just a few from my Seattle experience:

Yarn bomb in Pioneer Square.

Mighty-O in the morning.

Beer tasting at the New Belgium Clips of Faith event.

View from the ferry looking back at downtown Seattle.

Gay Pride flag atop the Space Needle!

Our rental house, snapped this pic the day we moved in.

One of the many Mariners baseball games we attended.

Spud Fish and Chips, I'll miss you!

Friday begins the cross-country road trip to our new location. We'll spend Christmas with our family in Tennessee and then head down to Tampa. The plan is to buy a house since we'll be stationed there for 3 years. I'm so excited to own a home again!  Wish us luck finding one soon. You know I can only go so long with out my craft room.

One last thing, just in case I don't post again till after the holidays, I want to wish you all a very merry Christmas!
